Meet the Team behind Balls and Skeins and your instructors!
Donna is our Crochet guru and is a familiar face if you’ve ever popped into Brown Paper Loves which was Newbury’s own LYS. She’s been crocheting for over 40 years and teaching for over 25!
Adite is our Knitting enthusiast and always has a bunch of projects on the go. She’s been knitting for about 15 years now and started teaching with sock knitting workshops at Brown Paper Loves in 2024.
Balls and Skeins grew from a shared love of yarn when Adite and Donna met nearly seven years ago at a Knit and Natter group in Newbury. Their passion deepened in 2022 when Donna opened her own yarn shop, Brown Paper Loves. Although the shop closed last year, its workshops and community groups proved just how much crafters love to connect.
After the closure, we realised we weren’t done and both wanted to keep working with the crafting community and sharing our skills, which inspired us to start Balls and Skeins.
