Always wanted to learn to crochet but don't know where to start? Come along to our relaxed and friendly 4-week beginner crochet workshop and learn the essential skills step-by-step.
WEEK 1: GETTING STARTED (Monday, 9th November 2026)
Learn how to hold and manipulate your yarn and hook, plus the chain and slip stitch.
Learn to make a crocheted lavender flower.
WEEK 2: BUILDING YOUR SKILLS (Monday, 16th November 2026)
Learn the treble crochet stitch and start combining stitches to create simple patterns.
Learn to make your first granny square.
WEEK 3: STRAIGHT EDGES (Monday, 23rd November 2026)
Learn the half treble crochet stitch, how to work into the front loop only and how to create neat, straight edges.
Learn to make a crocheted mug cosy.
WEEK 4: CROCHETING IN THE ROUND (Monday, 30th November 2026)
Learn how to crochet in the round (and realise that counting to 6 might not be as simple as you previously thought!)
Learn to make a crocheted basket.
During the course, you will also learn:
Yarn weights - understand the different weights and what they are suitable for
Hook sizes- learn how to choose the right hook for your yarn and project
Pattern reading - an introduction to understanding basic crochet patterns
Essential techniques - build your confidence through hands-on practice
You'll be supported throughout the course in a small, relaxed and encouraging group; with plenty of time to practise, ask questions and develop your skills. Learn the basics in four weeks and take away four projects.
Duration: 4 sessions of 90 minutes each
Dates: Mondays - 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th November 2026
Time: 6:30 to 8:00 pm

Price: £100
Level of Experience: No previous experience necessary. Absolute beginners are very welcome.
Materials: All attendees will receive a full kit that includes the yarn, crochet hooks and notions for all 4 projects in the workshop.
